Gregor Lentze LL.M.

Partner

Gregor Lentze, for nearly 20 years acting in the sports industry, is founding partner of Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwälte. Prior to the foundation of the lawfirm, from 2003 to 2006, he was Managing Director of FIFA Marketing & TV Deutschland GmbH in Munich and responsible for the implementation of FIFA’s marketing program for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany. Prior to that, he was Head of Legal of FIFA Marketing & TV AG in Zug, Switzerland, where he was also responsible for the foundation of the company and the media and marketing rights of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan. Between 1998 and June 2001, Gregor Lentze worked as Senior Legal Counsel at ISL Marketing AG, Lucerne, Switzerland. Prior to that, he worked as Associate Counsel at the London-based law firm Townleys Sports Lawyers. Gregor Lentze studied law in Bayreuth and Munich and graduated as Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Temple University, Philadelphia, i.a. with focus on American sports law. Gregor Lentze is member of the Editorial Board of the sports law journal World Sports Advocate.

Dr. habil. Martin Stopper

Partner

Martin Stopper, for more than 17 years active in the field of sports, is founding partner of Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwälte. He studied law in Konstanz before he gained a doctor’s degree and his postdoctoral lecturer qualification which contains civil, economic, corporate and competition law. Furthermore, he was visiting professor in Chicago, USA and Lublin, Poland. Martin Stopper worked as corporate counsel for FIFA Marketing & TV Deutschland GmbH and as Director Business Affairs for EM.Entertainment GmbH. Martin Stopper is a member of the German Association of Sports Law and co-editor of the sports law journal SpuRt.

Dr. Felix Holzhäuser

Partner

Felix Holzhäuser has been an attorney specialised in sports law since 2007 and joined the team of Lentze Stopper in 2010. In January 2015 he became partner of the lawfirm Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwälte. Felix Holzhäuser advises clients on all areas of sports law as well as in the field of intellectual property law and represents clients at sports courts, arbitration courts and ordinary courts. Prior to joining Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwälte, he worked in the Bird & Bird sports and trademark law team. From 2005 to 2007, he conducted his legal traineeship in Mainz, Hong Kong and Munich (e.g. FC Bayern München AG). Felix Holzhäuser studied law in Mainz, where he also completed his doctoral thesis on club licensing in the German professional sports leagues in soccer, hockey, basketball and handball, mentored by Prof. Dr. Ulrich Haas. Felix Holzhäuser is a member of the German Association of Sports Law and he regularly publishes sports law articles.

Dr. Tim Bagger von Grafenstein

Senior Associate

Tim Bagger joined Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwälte as an attorney in January 2013, after having been a research assistant since July 2010. He conducted his legal traineeship from August 2010 until September 2012 at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg with stages at DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH, in the sports law team of an international law firm in Hamburg and in New York City. As a scholarship holder of a German graduate school of the University of Bayreuth, he wrote his doctoral thesis on sports and competition law (broadcasting rights of the German Bundesliga) from August 2008 until July 2010. During this time he completed two internships in international law firms in Munich and Frankfurt/M. in sports law. In addition to the First State examination in 2008 (focus on intellectual property and competition law), Tim Bagger accomplished an additional education in economic sciences at the University of Bayreuth.

SIMON KARLIN LL.M.

ASSOCIATE COUNSEL

Simon Karlin joined Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwälte as an attorney in May 2014. He conducted his legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe with stages at DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH and the corporate law team of an international law firm in Düsseldorf. Simon Karlin studied law in Bayreuth and graduated in 2012 as Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Boston University, Massachussetts, with focus on American IP and sports law. In addition to the First State examination in 2011 (focus on intellectual property and competition law), Simon Karlin accomplished an additional education in economic sciences at the University of Bayreuth. Simon Karlin regularly publishes sports law articles.

MARC PATRICK SCHNEIDER MBA

COUNSEL

Marc Patrick Schneider has been admitted to the German bar in 2006. He is specialised in equine/sports law as well as banking, capital markets and finance. Prior to joining Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwälte in February 2015, Marc Patrick Schneider worked in his own law firm founded in 2012 and specialised in equine/sports law and sports related financing. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2011, Marc Patrick Schneider worked for a prominent law firm in Frankfurt/Main and provided legal advice for banks and financial services institutions, mainly focusing on structuring securities prospectuses as well as on the regulatory requirements for providing financial services. Marc Patrick Schneider studied law in Mainz and Siena and graduated in 2008 as MBA in financial management and financial services at the University of Wales. In addition, he completed a half-year secondment at Morgan Stanley in 2009. Marc Patrick Schneider is a member of the German Association of Sports Law and regularly publishes articles on various topics ranging from sports and equine law to sports related financing.

Caroline Dressel

Associate COUNSEL

Caroline Dressel joined Lentze Stopper as an attorney in August 2016. During her legal traineeship between April 2013 and May 2015 in Freiburg and Munich, she was working in different law offices and gained working experience in the area of sports law. Caroline Dressel studied in Freiburg and Linköping (Sweden) focused on intellectual property. Based on her practical and theoretical knowledge she started her dotcor`s degree. With support from Prof. Dr. Martin Nolte she examines the subject of sportlers´ image rights at the Sporthochschule Cologne. Beside this Caroline Dressel aspires to get a specialized lawyer in the area of employment law. 

Tobias Kempter

Associate COUNSEL

Tobias Kempter joined Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwaelte as an attorney in January 2017. He conducted his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Munich with stages at an international law firm in the field of antitrust law in Munich and Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwaelte. During his university studies at the LMU University Munich and the Charles-University in Prague Tobias Kempter focused on competition, antitrust and IP law. Within his studies he gained first experiences at sports law offices in Ludwigsburg and Munich and took part in the Harvard World Model United Nations simulation as a member of the delegation of the LMU in 2012.

Eva Richter

OFFICE MANAGER

Eva Richter, since April 2012 at Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwälte, received the First State examination in law and is a graduate in business administration (university of cooperative education). She is responsible for accounting and controlling and furthermore handles our trademark administration and specialized legal assistance.

Natalia Nikitina

ASSISTANT

Natalia Nikitina, since July 2015 at Lentze Stopper Rechtsanwälte, is a certified paralegal. As a specialized assistant she supports the lawyers and handles trademark administration of the law firm. She is also responsible for the firm’s administration as well as accounting and preliminary bookkeeping.

Sandra Eichner

ASSISTANT

Sandra Eichner, who joined the team of Lentze Stopper in July 2013, is a certified office manager and in addition to studying law, she started out as an assistant at Lentze Stopper. Since October 2014, she works as assistant to the Partners and administrative legal assistant. She is also responsible for the firm’s administration, human resources as well as accounting and preliminary bookkeeping.

Petra Heger

Assistant

Petra Heger, since May 2017 part of Lentze Stopper, studied international economics and supports the management team as assistant.
